I was asked this question a while back and before I even tried it or tested it I answered the question as “no”. But then I got to wondering myself so I tried it and tested it and here is my story and results:
I purchased, from Wal-mart, Nail-aid Biotin Ultimate Strength liquid nail strengthener (made in the USA). I removed my Color Street nail polish with Mineral Fusion (non acetone remover), cleaned my nail bed and cuticles. I then applied one layer of the nail strengthener and let it dry and then applied one more coat on top of that.
Once the second coat was dry I then applied my Color Street nail strips.
My results: I found that having the layer of nail strengthener on before applying the strip actually helped the strip cling to the nail which was actually helpful! You will notice today I didn’t post a #ManiMonday reveal as the Holidaze strips I applied last Sunday are still going strong and look fabulous!
So I revise my answer….
Can you apply liquid nail strengthener before applying Color Street nail strips? YES you can!
